Heeeeeey Yah (cues Andre 3000). Family! It’s been a few weeks…ok fine…a lot of weeks since my last post. What is going on?! I have to be honest, having a blog is hard work. One of the things other bloggers have taught me is the importance of consistency, but life has been kickin’ my behind lately.
Nevertheless, I am back for your viewing pleasure. And if you notice that I haven’t posted in a while, feel free to call me out. Your encouragement is definitely motivating!
My favorite accessory is a scarf. I mean the colors. Layering them. The warmth. Honestly it’s the best. So this week’s outfit features just that. She (the model above, whose head I did not cut off, Pinterest is playing, lol) is wearing a leather jacket, a patterned mini-skirt, black tights, and lace-up boots.
So here’s my rendition of the outfit. This black leather jacket is from one of my previous posts, from TopShop. This jacket runs big, so be sure to size down when purchasing. My scarf is from H&M. It is an infinity scarf, which I double looped. I can wear it long as well, but not for this ensemble.
My plaid mini-skirt is from TopShop as well. I’ll be honest, I can be a little apprehensive about showing my legs because I am usually self-conscience about it, but I felt really confident in this one. My black shirt is a mock turtleneck from H&M. And finally, my lace-up boots are from ALDO.
I showed this look with and without the leather jacket. The weather in Charlotte has been giving me springtime vibes so I was feeling myself and took off the jacket. peep that clear blue sky in the background.

Hey Ya’ll. Holiday season is in full effect and with holiday parties come holiday outfits and I have got you covered. The next few posts will be focused on getting you ready for your next holiday soiree.
This week’s outfit is simple but eye catching. A brown vest, black leather pants, a black shirt and ankle booties. Featured accessories for this look include bangles and a simple necklace.
I recreated this look with pieces primarily from H&M however not acquired at the same time. The faux fur vest is both soft and very easy to layer. I actually went with a lightweight black turtleneck instead of just a shirt. My leather pants are actually leggings. I have to be honest with you guys, I did not like these leggings. They ran big, and I was constantly pulling them up throughout the night. Not to mention it was not the comfort I have come to expect from leggings.
My ankle boots are from Old Navy, which you may have remembered from my Thanksgiving post a few weeks ago.
Have you tried this outfit? Send me your rendition to be featured on the blog.
I’ve heard it. You’ve heard it. “Do not wear white after Labor Day.”
But why? Am going to spill something on my clothes? Actually, I don’t need a specific day for that to take place. lol. Did the fashion directors of the world get together and impose another standard that we should just blindly adhere to? Either way I set out to not only wear white in the winter but to do it well. So check it out.
White is real clean, literally and figuratively. When I see a well put together white outfit, I know you took some time to think about how to lay this all out. So today’s look features white and neutrals.
SN: I did not cut off her face, the picture is online that way *shoulder shrug*
As we were. She has on white skinny jeans, a taupe embellished jacket and a grey shirt. Her shoes are somewhere in the grey family as well. So here’s my take on her look.
The white jeans are from, yes you’ve guessed it, Old Navy. I sweat them! They still need to get the fit together though because my waist is definitely not as wide as their jeans, le struggle. My blouse is from Forever 21. It’s more of a cream color, but it photographed closer to white. The leather jacket is from Wilson’s Leather and is a dark, heather grey.
The clutch is from ALDO and was gifted to me for my birthday almost five years ago and it is one of my favorites. The sandals are by Steve Madden. Another reason why I love living in the south, sandals in winter.
So ladies and gents, white after Labor Day is go! Actually, whenever you want it to be, its a go. So if you have a white outfit that you recreated send me your pic and the original and you can be featured.
